Boot camp is hard. I get sweaty and dirty and my muscles are sore the next day. I also get results, which is why, after three years of boot camp, I keep going back for more! Since the first boot camp in June of 2008, I've lost more than 20 pounds and more than 20 inches, and have maintained that loss. I am in my late forties and have never been as fit as I am now. Before boot camp, my exercise habits were sporadic and for long periods of time, non-existent. Even though I knew the importance of regular exercise, I would always find an excuse not to do it. Now, working out is part of my weekly routine. Four times a week, our fabulous instructor Christy leads us through a tough, but do-able workout. I have a few limitations due to old neck and back injuries and Christy is always ready with an alternative exercise. Christy's knowledge and encouragement have been a huge factor in my continuing success and attendance at boot camp; I've never felt like I couldn't "keep up". We boot campers also encourage each other and have become good friends. Making new friends has been an unexpected and delightful benefit of boot camp. To sum it all up: Is Adventure Boot Camp for Women hard? Yes. Is it fun? Not really! Is it worth it and should you "just do it"? Absolutely!

Christy (Evening Camp Instructor) on Paige:
Paige is a great motivator and encourages everyone. She is our “welcome committee” to new campers and takes them under her wing. She always remembers everyone’s birthday and is a very positive force at boot camp. When Paige first started boot camp, she did not run. . . AT ALL. . Not the story now! And she even runs events like the Midnight Run. Paige makes everyone believe that boot camp is achievable!!

I enrolled in Adventure Boot Camp in June 2009 at the invitation of some friends. What great friends I have because I have been hooked ever since. I have found the evening class (5:45-6:45) best suits my schedule. Adventure Boot Camp is for all ages. I am a married mother of 2 grown children and I work full time at St Francis Hospital. In January 2011, I met with Pilar Cobb at Weight Loss Complete to review my nutritional health. Christy and Kara had been telling me “you can’t out exercise a bad diet”. I knew that but I needed somebody to give me direction towards good eating habits, smart choices when eating out and a grocery list to avoid buying all the wrong food. Pilar and I talked about my exercise routine, my eating habits (lots of fast food for lunch) and what my goals were. Recently I met my goal of loosing 30 pounds and total of 26 ¼ inches. I don’t believe I’m on a diet; I simply changed my eating habits and continued my exercise routine of coming to Boot Camp a minimum of 3 times a week. Make a commitment to join Adventure Boot Camp for Women. It is the best decision you’ll ever make.

"After seeing the Adventure Boot Camp offered as Groupon several months ago, I thought I would
give it a try. Prior to signing up, I had a gym membership and was watching what I was eating and still not getting the results I wanted. My first camp was hard but after 4 weeks of training I was seeing the results. I lost pounds and inches in areas of my body that I thought I would never lose. Having just completed my fourth camp, I am so much stronger, leaner, and toner. Plus I have lost more pounds and inches and have needed to buy smaller size in clothes.. My endurance is longer and just last weeked I completed both a 13 mile bike ride and a 5k run in the same day. The instructors, Kara, Christy & Jessica push you to do your best during the class and are offer nutrition and exercise tips for outside the class. This is one of the best things I have ever done for myself."

I'd like to say that signing up for boot camp is the best decision I've made in the past few months! Regardless of being sore, I've had nothing but a smile on my face from how great I feel and how wonderful this weather is. The thing I like best about bootcamp is how non-intimidating, yet how productive, each session is. I can't stop talking about it at work, and I never dread coming in the mornings.

Annie Miller - 5:30 am class NEW CAMPER!!
Boot camp is great. I attend the 5:30 a.m. class and I actually find myself waking up early on the days that I attend so that I can get there early and not be late. Kara motivates and pushes us to do our best and strive to do better. I have been attending camp for about a year now and I can tell a difference not only in the way that I feel but also in how my clothes fit. I actually have a waist now.

Sheryl Lockhart - 5:30 am class
The best part of waking up is Adventure Boot Camp. I have been a happy camper for more than a year. I look forward to each workout because Kara plans creative and challenging workouts. Each session is different from the others and designed to give maximum results.
Brinkley Pound - 5:30 am class
I never thought I would use the words "fun" and "boot camp" in the same sentence, but I do so frequently. I have been attending boot camp for one and a half years and have joined for a full year for the second time. I heard a presentation about boot camp at a women's conference but did not join because of the 5:30 a.m. time -- I am NOT a morning person. The other morning class was also not an option because of work. I was so excited when an evening class was offered even though I started in the heat of July! I am not overweight but I was flabby and had little or no strength. I hated the idea of being old, flabby and useless and boot camp sounded like the challenge I needed to kick-start an exercise program. My intent was to take one four week class and then continue on my own. However, I got much more than I anticipated. Not only was I challenged (I found muscles that I never knew existed) but I found support and long-lasting friendships -- I continue to visit with friends I met in boot camp even if they no longer attend. The trainer gets to know each of us and challenge us individually; she has become an important personal friend to many of us. I've even lost inches but, more importantly, I've lost body fat. I'm not embarrassed to lift a bare arm to wave since that underarm flab doesn't swing in the breeze!! We have so much fun that several of us try to get together during boot camp off weeks to have our own "pretend" or "civilian" boot camp so we can keep up when we start back. Boot camp has really become almost a way of life for me -- it is an imporatnt part of my daily routine.

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed Adventure Boot Camp! When I started attending a little over a year ago, I wanted something to help me lose the last of my “baby weight.” I had no idea when I started how much I would love it, and that over a year later I would still be participating!
There are so many reasons why Adventure Boot Camp is ideal for me. It provides an hour of uninterrupted time to dedicate towards my fitness goals at the beginning of my day. I love the feeling of walking to my car at 6:30 in the morning, before my children are awake, knowing I’ve started my day doing something mentally and physically beneficial for me.
Kara varies the workouts every day. All you have to do is show up and work hard. Exercise has always been a part of my daily life, but the benefit of someone like Kara developing your workouts and taking the guesswork out of it is invaluable.
I love that you get out of boot camp as much as you put in, you can work to your ability. Kara is always willing to show you how to tweak an exercise to make it more challenging. IOver the past year both my strength and speed have increased significantly. These results would not be possible were it not for Kara and Adventure Boot Camp.
